This upstairs apartment was not livable when we purchased the home, and any original details were removed or damaged beyond repair. This gave us a blank slate to personalize while respecting the original era of the house.

Bold colors greet you in the living room with furniture accents to match. Original wood plank floors are preserved with a new dark stain, and simple trim pieces give a nod to traditional moulding.

The narrow dining room would be an awkward fit for standard furniture, so we went custom - with a built-in dining banquette that also serves as a platform bed for guests. A high-graphic wallpaper serves as a focal point over a built-in sideboard.

The bedroom is an oasis of masculine calm. Furniture and trim reference historic forms but are finished in pop colors to give a modern fresh feel.
